Can You Make My Cake Gluten-Free/Eggless/Vegan, etc?

We can happily accommodate requests for EGGLESS cakes—just note your request in the additional comments section of our order inquiry form. PLEASE NOTE—while we make every effort to keep your order free of eggs for those who request this, your cake will still be made in a kitchen that processes those ingredients on a regular basis. For those with extreme sensitivities or allergies, please carefully consider this when booking Joeycakes. At this time, we do not offer vegan or gluten-free options.

Can I Visit Your Shop In Person?

Joeycakes Custom Cakes & Confections is a cake studio based in Jersey City, NJ. It is a private cake studio, not a storefront or bakery and is not open to the public.

Do You Offer Tastings For Prospective Wedding Cake Clients?

Yes, we do! Tasting boxes are produced quarterly (4 times each year). These boxes consist of 4 slices of cake (4 different flavors) and can be purchased for $50 per box, the cost of which will be deducted from the balance of your wedding cake purchase. How Do I Order A Cake?

Because Joeycakes designs each cake individually and decorates by hand, each cake is a custom work of art—therefore there are no instant-checkout options. To begin the ordering process, please visit the “Begin Your Design Consultation” page and submit a custom order form. Joey will be in touch shortly with more details. Please note—full payment is due to secure your event date on the Joeycakes calendar. Klarna is available at checkout if you would like to split your total into multiple payments.

What Are Your Delivery Areas & Fees?

Local delivery (within Jersey City) is a flat $20 fee added to the cost of your order. For farther distances (within 2 hours of Jersey City) the delivery fee varies and is determined by distance. Frequently, clients choose to use Uber Courier to pick up their cakes from the Joeycakes studio to deliver to their home address—this can save a hefty delivery fee. If you’d like to use this option, just note this under the Additional Comments section in the order form.

Do You Use Fondant?

No, we do not cover our cakes in fondant. All our cakes are 100% made with buttercream. However, fondant may be used for small accents if needed, to suit the design of the cake.

Do You Make Children’s Cakes?

No — I don’t take on children’s cakes or character-themed designs. My creative focus is on sophisticated, design-driven cakes for weddings and adult celebrations.
